Just When General Hospital’s Ava Needs an Ally Most, Adam Huss Speaks Out On Nikolas’ Future

Ava has been playing a very, very dangerous game on General Hospital lately as she’s worked to push Sonny over the edge. Her release of Natalia’s recording seemed rash, at best, and downright dumb, at worst. But now she’s back to careful scheming, fully replacing Sonny’s pills and teaming up with John to testify against Avery’s daddy. Dumb might be forgivable, but Sonny will want to utterly destroy her once he figures out how much she’s been trying to orchestrate her downfall.
And that’s why we’ve been wondering how long before we get a “Who Killed Ava?” murder mystery. As Alexis recently pointed out, Ava’s burned all her bridges at this point. She doesn’t have a single ally left… But that could change. All she’d need is for Nikolas to return and she’d have a wealthy, powerful friend who could offer her shelter and protection from Sonny’s rage.
Sure, he’s off in prison right now, but that’s never been a problem for anyone in Port Charles. The last we saw him and Ava together, she told Nikolas about Sonny’s medication reduction, though she didn’t exactly cop to it herself. Even that, though, was enough for Nikolas to warn her to be careful she doesn’t earn Sonny’s wrath.
Still, he might be just about the only person sympathetic enough to help get Ava out of the mess she’s getting herself into. As for whether Adam Huss would or will be back, the actor had a few promising words to say over on Twitter/X. “Don’t think I don’t see all your GH love for Nikolas,” he wrote. “I see you and I appreciate you all! As you know, I love playing Nikolas Mikael Stavrosavich Cassadine so wherever the journey takes me your love always resonates with me.”
So while we don’t know what the future holds for Nikolas, rest assured that Huss will happily go along for the ride. Check out Huss’ full tweet below.
And of course the fans chimed right in with support, saying they’d love for him to bring Nikolas back sooner, rather than later. And, we have a feeling, Ava may soon be thinking the same thing!
“I am in awe of all the love this post got,” Huss continued. I know it’s not easy to accept a recast. I won’t ever take this embrace for granted! Not even for a second.”
