The Young and the Restless Week of July 22 Preview: Devon Proposes to Abby – Victor’s Company Takeover for Nikki
The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers preview video for the week of July 22-26 reveals that Devon Hamilton-Winters (Bryton James) will enjoy some quiet time with Abby Newman-Abbott (Melissa Ordway) in the park.
It looks like Devon will be thinking about how much he loves Abby and their moments like this together.
Devon won’t ever want those moments to stop, so he’ll blurt out a marriage proposal that catches Abby off guard.
After Devon shocks Abby with a “marry me,” she’ll raise her head off his shoulder and no doubt wonder if she heard that right!
Abby will definitely seem surprised, but she’ll also have a smile on her face.
Since Abby and Devon have talked about being open to marriage in the past, there’s a good chance Abby will give him the “yes” he’s hoping for.
Over with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), he’ll have a tense meeting with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) in his office.
Victor will finally reveal his long-term plans for Nikki and Adam, so let’s talk about those.
In Y&R’s weekly preview video, Victor says he’s in the process of acquiring a company that’s almost as big as Newman Enterprises.
Adam seems surprised Victor would even admit a company like that exists, but Victor confirms it indeed does.
“And it is yours,” Victor tells Nikki in the promo clip – though Nikki doesn’t look very impressed!
Nikki may feel like Victor is trying to distract her with some shiny new company when she really just wants her CEO seat back at Newman Media.
Of course, Adam might be willing to trade if he likes the thought of a bigger and better position, but that probably isn’t what Victor has in mind.
Victor always has very specific ideas on what corporate roles his family members should have – at least until the next round of musical chairs happens every few months.
Nikki may also have questions about exactly what company Victor is taking over. Could Victor be making a play for Abbott-Chancellor now that the demerger has happened?
Victor recently warned Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) about his arrogance and pointed out that his demerger was leaving the companies vulnerable, so maybe Victor has a few tricks up his sleeve.
