Days Of Our Lives News: Ron Carlivati OUT As Soap’s Head Writer - Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford To Step InDays of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers suggest a major shakeup backstage as Ron Carlivati is exiting his head writer role, effective immediately. According to Deadline, Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford will succeed him in the role.

DOOL News: Ron Carlivati OUT – Writing Team Shake Up On Soap

Both Ford and Cwikly have had long-term ties to soaps, as Ford has been Days’s breakdown writer before entering this role, and initially began her career in 1992 as a writing assistant. She’s also worked on the writing teams of One Life to Live (OLTL) and As The World Turns (ATWT).

Meanwhile, Cwikly has also worked on the ATWT writing team, as well as Young and the Restless (Y&R), and Sunset Beach.

Days News: Ron Carlivati’s Salem Legacy

Carlivati has had quite a run as Days’head writer, entering the role in January 2017. Before landing his DOOL gig, he was the last head writer on OLTL until the show ended in 2012. He would move on to the land of Port Charles, serving as head writer at General Hospital from 2012 to 2012.

Over the years, he’s snagged two Daytime Emmys for his writing work on soaps, one in 200 and one in 2018.

Days offered an official statement, via Soap Opera Digest (SOD), stating, “Days of Our Lives is announcing today that Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford will become the daytime drama’s new head writers beginning immediately.

As part of the change, head writer Ron Carlivati will be departing the show after seven years. Episodes written by Carlivati will air through April 2025 due to the show’s unique tape to air schedule.”

The soap’s Executive Producer, Ken Corday said in a statement, “We look forward to approaching our 60th Anniversary next year with Paula and Jeanne Marie at the helm and fresh, exciting stories that we know the fans will embrace.
