The Young and the Restless Monday, July 22 Update: Nikki Accuses Gold-Digger Diane, Jack Blows a Gasket
The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Monday, July 22, reveals that Lucy Romalotti’s (Lily Brooks O’Briant) excitement will turn to disappointment when Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) changes her mind about letting her come to the upcoming pool party.
Faith will point out that there’s going to be an exact headcount and an older crowd.
Since there’ll probably be booze around, Faith will think it’s best if Lucy doesn’t come after all.
However, Lucy will lie to Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) about everything being fine and will act like she’s still invited to the party as planned.
Next on Monday’s Y&R episode, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will grill Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom) about the Portugal trip fail and will worry about Heather bailing on Daniel if he sinks to a low place again.
Heather won’t think Daniel’s the same guy anymore, so she’ll push Phyllis to believe in him – and she’ll think Phyllis should believe in her, too.
Lucy will keep acting like her party plans are on track, so Daniel and Heather will remind her to follow the rules – especially steering clear of alcohol no matter what everybody else is doing.
Meanwhile, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will have coffee with Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), who’ll rile him up by suggesting Diane Jenkins-Abbott (Susan Walters) is getting everything she wanted when she first returned to town.
Jack will be offended over Nikki implying Diane’s only with him because of her gold-digging power trip. Nikki won’t want to upset Jack, but she’ll admit she doesn’t trust Diane and probably never will.
Once Jack stomps off, Nikki will follow him back to his office and try to make amends.
Jack still won’t see how Diane firing Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) some grand plan and will think Nikki’s made if clear where she stands.
In Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) office, he’ll be alarmed when Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) says she almost broke the betrayal news to Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson).
Once Adam argues that his relationship is on the line as well, Chelsea will suggest that maybe Billy would be willing to hide what happened from Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope).
Adam won’t think Billy would be very understanding of their cheating blunder – especially since Billy already has a negative view of him.
Plus, Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) might get updates in the aftermath and hold himself responsible for their failed relationships.
It could cause Connor’s setback, so Adam will stress the importance of keeping quiet about their hotel hookup.
In the park, Billy will tell Sally that something changed once Adam and Chelsea returned from Baltimore.
From Billy’s perspective, it’ll seem like more is going on with Connor or perhaps Adam did something to affect things while they were there.
Afterward, Billy will grill Adam, who’ll take one for the cheating team by pretending he ripped into Chelsea while they were drunk and upset.
Adam will make it seem like he blamed Chelsea during an outburst, so Billy will angrily wonder how he could treat Chelsea like that – especially after everything Chelsea’s gone through.
Adam will be apologetic for the weak moment, so Billy will at least be glad he got the truth out of him – at least he’ll think it’s the truth!
At Crimson Lights, Sally will quiz Chelsea about whether something bad might’ve happened in Baltimore.
Chelsea will act like Connor’s self-harm episode was bad enough and will dash off to avoid getting interrogated.
As Adam thinks back to hitting the sheets with Chelsea, Sally will find him deep in thought and question what’s wrong.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Adam and Chelsea’s secret will blow up down the road, so we’ll bring you more predictions on all the erupting drama.
