Well, Brooke is back in front of the camera (and in lingerie) on The Bold and the Beautiful as her bedroom line starts to take off. We thought that maybe she’d use this as an opportunity to pass the torch to her increasingly sexually liberated daughter, Hope, but we guess some things just aren’t meant to be!

Still, as the shoot has taken off this week, we couldn’t help but wonder: Why is Zende, of all people, taking the photos? Doesn’t Forrester have full-time photographers? We’re not knocking his talent and yes, in his early days at his family’s fashion house, Zende did work as a photographer, but that was practically a blip on the resume of one of Forrester’s senior designers. If anything, RJ’s got more recent experience with his social media presence.

But again, why isn’t a full time photographer doing this job? Someone like… Oliver. What ever happened to him once he left back in 2015?

We can’t help but think it would have been far more interesting if he had been the one who had to take Brooke’s photos. You know, Hope’s onetime boyfriend who had sex with Brooke while they were both masked up and thought they were other people?

Oliver, for those who weren’t watching back when he was on, was Forrester’s budding young photographer who dated Hope and Aly, flirted with Steffy and Maya and thought he may have gotten Amber pregnant. And yes, was embroiled in the infamous mask sex with Brooke when he thought she was Hope, and she thought he was Ridge. (Don’t ask too many questions.)

In fact, what if that was the incident that started Hope down the path of romantic mistake after romantic mistake? Just last week, we pondered whether, after years of vowing to never be like her mom, Hope’s recent leaning into her sexuality, while liberating, might have something to do with dissociative identity disorder. In other words, Hope could be developing a split personality.

And Oliver could be the only one to help her put to rest the trauma that started it all. His return would be easy enough. He ran off to Europe after Aly’s death. With Forrester’s presence overseas, the next time Thomas comes home, he could say he rehired Oliver and is bringing him back with him. Maybe Thomas could even bring him back with the idea of setting him back up with Hope, so that she’d move on from him and let him be happy with Paris.

That could work out doubly well for him since it looks like Hope’s currently got eyes for Finn — and Thomas would likely want to protect his sister’s marriage as best he can while he was at it! (Unless Oliver makes a play for Steffy too, since they also shared a brief moment or two…)

Oliver could return just as Hope started going full-blown split personality and try reconciling with her, only to be confused as she’s hot with him one minute and cold the next. The real Hope would be interested in Oliver, while her other personality would emulate her mother, going after Finn and recreating Brooke’s battle with Taylor over Ridge. That would be the part of her that’s been obsessed with Thomas after years of disavowing him and is now taking a good, hard look at Finn.

Granted, most instances of dissociative identity disorder come about after childhood trauma, so maybe eventually, it could come out that Hope’s problems all started growing up with her mom bouncing around between men. Then, when Brooke and Oliver had sex, it began a fracture that pushed a part of her to act more like her wild mother and grew until Thomas’ return from Paris (with Paris) pushed her over the edge.
