Imagine this… You just won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress and instead of celebrating the night away with castmates and friends, you’re trying to get back into the after-party to do just that. Well, something along those lines happened to The Young and the Restless’ Courtney Hope (Sally).
The CBS soap star reflected back on the night in June when she won her first Daytime Emmy and shared with Soap Opera Digest that she began the celebrations inside the after-party but then briefly left after someone reminded her that last year, another winner’s statuette was taken.
Hope then made her way back to her hotel suite in order to protect her treasured Emmy behind locked doors and while there, she washed her hands and switched purses. However, when she went back to the party, the stamp she had on her hand in order to gain reentry was no longer there. When she was told by security that she couldn’t get in, Hope stated, “I was just here!”

Unfortunately, the security guard who was there earlier had left and even when a partygoer appeared and congratulated Hope on her win, the new guard simply asserted, “Sorry.” It wasn’t until someone else turned up with their congrats, when the guard, and another one on hand, couldn’t deny that she was in fact a winner and finally let her back in.
Looking back, trying to regain her rightful place inside to celebrate with her daytime peers may have been frustrating, but… “Now I can say that what happened to me was really funny,” Hope added.
