Ava Turns the Tables: Cates’ Murder Plot Ends in His Own Death!

General Hospital spoilers tease that Ava Jerome (Maura West) regrets aligning herself with FBI Agent John Cates (Adam Harrington). First, it was his luggage that Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) tripped over during an altercation with Ava. Kristina ended up crashing through the window of Ava’s hotel room and fell several stories into the Metro Court pool.

While Kristina survived, the baby she was carrying did not. Port Charles police charged Ava with manslaughter, but Cates had other ideas.

After seeing photos of the altercation between Ava and Kristina, Cates decided that Kristina was the instigator, not Ava. He ended up charging Kristina with attempted murder even though that was not at all what really happened.

When Kristina was arraigned, the Judge gave Cates 48 hours to come up with evidence or the case would be thrown out and Cates himself would be thrown in jail for making a false accusation.

GH Spoilers – John Cates Forced Ava Jerome To Lie

After coaching Ava on what to say, Ava lied in her statement to the police that Kristina came to Ava’s room with the sole purpose of killing Ava for her father, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard).

Sonny tries to get through to Ava, informing her that Cates would likely kill him so she couldn’t go back on her statement.

Ava wasn’t sure what to believe but she begrudgingly left with Cates who told her he was placing her in protective custody. Now Ava isn’t sure what to think but in the back of her mind she has to wonder if Sonny was right.

If Sonny’s right, then Cates will kill Ava so her statement against Kristina will be the last word. He might even try to frame Sonny for Ava’s death just to solidify his plan. But killing Ava won’t be easy and she certainly won’t go down without a fight.

She might even manage with fight back hard enough to make a killing blow in self-defense. Cates’ decades long vendetta may come to an end with his own death at Ava’s hands. Perhaps Ava should have listened to Sonny when he tried to offer her protection.

What do you think?

Is Sonny right about Ava’s life being in danger? Is Cates really capable of cold-blooded murder? Will Ava be forced to kill Cates in order to stay alive? Anything can happen in Port Charles so stay tuned to General Hospital airing weekdays on ABC.
