The Young and the Restless Bombshell: Valarie Pettiford Stuns GC as New Amy Lewis in Shocking Recast!

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that the CBS soap is adding a new cast member – and the role she’s playing is a bit of a shocker! According to Deadline, Amy Lewis is returning to Genoa City and will have a different look when she hits town again this fall.

Amy was previously played by Stephanie E. Williams when she made her Y&R debut way back in 1983.

Now Valarie Pettiford is taking over as Amy, so fans can expect to see her first appearance on Tuesday, October 29.

Amy Lewis will be a recurring character starting this autumn, so it’ll be interesting to see why she makes this comeback.

This whole casting decision is a head-scratcher since most of the people Amy used to be connected to are no longer on canvas.

That said, it’s worth mentioning that Amy used to sing sometimes and was in Danny Romalotti’s (Michael Damian) orbit.

Amy also had a relationship with Nate Hastings’ (Sean Dominic) father, Nathan Hastings Sr. (Nathan Purdee), once upon a time.

There must be a reason why the show’s going to the trouble of recasting this role from the ‘80s, so that offers a mystery to unravel.

Y&R hasn’t offered any storyline details for Amy’s return just yet, but we’ll pass along predictions and updates as more news emerges.

As for Valarie Pettiford, she’s a Tony-nominated actress who also brings soap experience to the table.

Pettiford was on Another World as well as One Life to Live in the ‘90s, but now she’s set to make her Y&R debut.
