Set another place at the Forresters’ table for Thanksgiving: Daytime newbie Laneya Grace has been cast as Eric’s grandniece Electra, Soap Opera Digest reports. The character is the granddaughter of the Forrester patriarch’s brother John (the late Fred Willard), which also makes her Ivy’s niece. (Figure out the whole family tree here.)
Not coincidentally, Ashleigh Brewer is returning to the soap as Ivy, whose last fly-by included a stolen kiss from old flame Liam — and some serious side-eye from dissin’ cousin Steffy. (More on that here.)
Though you’re unlikely to recognize Grace’s name, you may well recognize the actress herself. She’s been modeling since she was a kid (in big campaigns for the likes of Old Navy) and appeared in Avicii’s “Wake Me Up” music video — and everybody’s seen that!
Grace’s entrance comes on the heels of Lisa Yamada’s sudden exit as Luna, who was initially positioned as the show’s next big ingenue… and then very quickly turned into a money-grubbing psycho killer who’d let her own mother rot behind bars for two murders she hadn’t committed. (Our heads are still spinning from the speed at which Luna went from Ms. Nice Gal to scary as hell!)
Needless to say, the hiring is almost certainly good news for the soap’s young male population. Since R.J. is not biologically a Forrester, even he could vie with adopted cousin Zende and total non-Forrester Will for the attentions of the new knockout in town. (It already sounds like R.J. and Will are going to clash.)
