Young & Restless: Sharon’s Life Takes a Turn That Ties Her to Phyllis for Good!

We know that something bad is coming on The Young and the Restless — like, really bad. Like, if we had to guess, something so terrible and heartbreaking that it’s going to leave somebody dead — that bad. And what comes afterwards may be even more of a jaw-dropper.
As we’ve already seen, Sharon, off her bipolar medication and being egged on by her subconscious’ manifestation of longtime tormentor Cameron, has surrendered to the grief and rage that she still feels over daughter Cassie’s untimely demise — to the point that she’s been moved to poison the whiskey at Daniel and Heather’s place. What’s more, Sharon’s gotten caught leaving by Heather herself.
Next, “a series of shocking events will further connect Sharon to Daniel’s family, including Phyllis,” executive producer/headwriter Josh Griffith tells Soap Opera Digest. “The years of hurt feelings and anger between these characters will reach a boiling point and take everyone on an unexpected ride.”
The question is, will the finish line of that ride leave the longtime rivals with a better understanding of one another, perhaps more empathy? Or when their mutual loathing reaches a new high, will it just keep on rising? Honestly, we didn’t think their animosity toward one another to get any more intense than it was following Cassie’s death, when Nick was straying from Sharon to seek sexual healing with Phyllis.
