General Hospital Comings & Goings: Recast Frenzy, Sam’s Tragic Spiral, and Laura’s Heart-Wrenching Return!
General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that we’ve got some comings and goings news to share, so let’s start with a beloved star’s comeback. Genie Francis is practically soap royalty, so it’s nice to know she’s finally set to reprise her role as Laura Collins and resurface in Port Charles.
The anticipation has been building since Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) was rescued and landed back in Port Charles to hopefully save Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins).
After Laura makes her initial comeback on October 9, she’ll share a heartfelt reunion with Lucky on October 10.
Laura will be thrilled to see her son back home in one piece – and she’ll certainly be grateful that Lucky is willing to step up for Lulu’s sake.
Of course, Lucky still has to undergo some final tests to make sure he’s all set for this liver donor transplant.
The situation has seemed hopeful so far, but twists are always just around the corner waiting to complicate things!
We should also talk about all the new faces popping up on GH lately. Is the show dealing with recast overload at this point?
Colin Cassidy made a strong debut in the role of Aiden Webber – even if he looks a tad too old for the part.
Van Hansis (Lucas Jones) is also an excellent actor based on his own first appearance in PC, but some fans are feeling like his vibe doesn’t fit Lucas’ character at all.
Alexa Havins will make her debut as a Lulu recast sometime this fall, so the show’s forcing several new performers on-screen.
This comes on the heels of everyone getting used to Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) and Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) recasts, so there have been plenty of cast changes.
With new Aiden, new Lucas and new Lulu, is GH going overboard here? Sometimes recasts can work out quite well, but the show’s still asking a lot when it comes to wanting fans to accept all the fresh faces on canvas.
That’s especially true when fan favorites like Kelly Monaco (Sam McCall) are getting cut altogether.
Monaco has already filmed her last scenes as Sam, so we’re seeing her march toward tragedy on-screen now.
Sam’s latest encounter with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) certainly felt like an effort to give their characters a bit of closure.
Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) has also been playing up how he could never lose Sam – paving the way for when he actually will.
There’ll be more ominous moments like that as Sam’s exit gets closer, so we’ll bring you updates on her final airdate and predictions on how her departure will affect her loved ones.
General Hospital spoilers say the drama is about to heat up in Port Charles, so stick with us for more comings and goings news along the way.
