Days of Our Lives: Stefan Drops the Bombshell Divorce Papers — Is This the End for Gabi and Stefan?

Stefan walked into Gabi’s hospital room and announced that he filed for divorce. This is somewhat surprising since he’s always fought hard for their relationship. Unfortunately, in the Monday, October 7 episode of Days of Our Lives, the two can’t unsee what the other has done. And the end of their marriage becomes a mutual decision. But will it stick?

Divorce, Stabi Style

It’s kind of a shame that Stefan and Gabi decided to end their marriage. You could really feel the connection between Cherie Jimenez and Brandon Barash’s characters. DAYS writers gave them a nice showcase as Stefan and Gabi’s marriage ended.

The soon-to-be exes could feel the weight of the moment. They ultimately admitted to not being able to get over their respective affairs. For Gabi, it was because Stefan slept with Ava while she was in prison (and then kept it secret). For Stefan, it was because she slept with his brother, whom he despises.

At first, Stefan’s filing for divorce shocked Gabi. Eventually, she grew resigned to it and agreed with him. But there still seemed to be a couple of moments when it looked like they could get over their painful affairs. But that didn’t happen. They concluded that divorce was the only option for them.

At this point, Stefan and Gabi need space and time. That may be the only way they will be able to overcome their betrayals. If that doesn’t happen, then they already have future prospects. Ava (Tamara Braun) has decided to take the job at The Bistro, meaning she and Stefan will be in close proximity.

Gabi will apparently continue to live at the DiMera mansion, even though she should probably move in with Rafe (Galen Gering). This means she’ll be in close proximity to EJ (Dan Feuerriegel). These two always begin conversations complete with carefully constructed walls. But those walls always crumble, and they end up sharing intriguing moments of vulnerability with each other. What will happen with this quadrangle in the future?
