It looks like things are shaking up behind the scenes at both The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless — and in one of the best ways it could! Our sister site Deadline just reported that longtime Bold & Beautiful supervising producer Edward Scott is heading back over to the show’s sister soap after 14 years.
It’ll be one heck of a homecoming for Scott, as longtime fans know that he began his career at Young & Restless as an associate producer back in 1976 before climbing up the ranks to serve as executive producer. Genoa City is also where he met his longtime wife, Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki), with the two wedding nearly 40 years ago in 1985.
Edward Scott’s won a number of Emmy awards over the years, for both Young & Restless and Bold and Beautiful and, in between shows, he even served as co-executive producer at Days of Our Lives from 2007 to 2008.
So it’s little wonder why both the award winning Scotts won a Lifetime Achievement Award at this past June’s Daytime Emmy Awards! This time around, per Deadline, Scott will be serving as senior producer to executive producer and headwriter Josh Griffith.
There’s no word just yet on when the switch will be happening, but we’re sure the Scotts are thrilled to be reunited on the same show — and the fans will be excited to have one of the sudser’s senior producers from its heyday back on the production team!
