The Young and the Restless: Lily Brooks O’Briant Spills on Lucy’s Jaw-Dropping Twist and Bratty Showdown!

The Young and the Restless’ Lily Brooks O’Briant Talks Lucy’s Shocking Twist and a Bratty Challenge

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Lucy Romalotti (Lily Brooks O’Briant) has been dealing with a flood of emotions ever since she got the tragic news about Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom). Heather wasn’t Lucy’s biological mother, but she was certainly her mom in every way that mattered.

When Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) gave Lucy updates on Heather’s grim fate, it was hard for her to even believe it. In a new interview with SOD, Lily Brooks O’Briant opened up about Lucy’s denial and a whole lot more.

O’Briant suggested that it’s still a struggle for Lucy to accept that Heather isn’t around anymore. Lucy initially came up with every excuse possible to try and explain away Heather’s demise, so O’Briant liked playing that layer to the story.

Of course, O’Briant also reflected on the moment she learned Heather was getting a fatal exit. That was a huge twist, so it definitely threw O’Briant for a loop.

“I was shocked, for sure, when I found out,” O’Briant admitted. “But, I mean, this is Young and Restless, so anything can happen, ever — you always have to expect the unexpected on Y&R!”

Once O’Briant wrapped her head around this curveball, she pointed out it was great to dive deeper with “such challenging and heavy material.”

Although O’Briant is having a blast with the gripping content, she confessed that things can get extra tough since she’s nothing like her character!

O’Briant acknowledged that Lucy can be “bratty” at times, but she cut Lucy some slack since a lot of teenagers have experience with that. Even so, O’Briant doesn’t share those bratty tendencies, so she plays Lucy quite a bit differently than she’d behave in real life.

Lily Brooks O’Briant praised Michael Graziadei for being an amazing scene partner and supporting her on set. It’s clear that Graziadei and O’Briant have developed a nice bond as a TV father-daughter duo.

Although O’Briant obviously couldn’t spill what’s to come in this Heather story, she did note that Lucy was “constantly thinking about the what-ifs and what she wishes she could have said to her.”

Could Lucy ultimately reconnect with Heather in ghostly form or at least in her imagination? It’ll be interesting to see if “Heather” might make an appearance to comfort Lucy at some point.

In the meantime, our Y&R predictions hint that Lucy’s world will come crashing down all over again.
