General Hospital: Cameron Mathison and Candace Bure Bring Cheer in New GAF Christmas Movie
Actor Cameron Mathison, aka Drew Cain from General Hospital, and Candace Cameron Bure have joined forces to spread some Christmas cheer. Former Hallmark mainstays are teaming up for a brand-new holiday movie.
Both actors have moved to the rival company, Great American Family, in recent years. However, the upcoming film will be their first project, along with the GAF. So, what is it about? When’s it coming out? Please continue reading to know all the details!
Candace and Cameron Reunite for GAF Holiday Magic
The General Hospital star and Candace Cameron Burewill will star in a new holiday film, Jingle Bells, Wedding Bells. It will hit the screens in November as part of the Great American Christmas 2024 lineup. The holiday event is in its fourth season. In the movie, Bure plays Gracie, an impeccable wedding planner at the Peachtree Inn.
Her mantra, “No problems, only solutions waiting to be discovered,” helps her make every bride’s dream wedding a reality. The story begins when Charlie (Mathison) brings his sister and her fiancé to Butler, S.C. He hopes to arrange a perfect Christmas Eve wedding at the Inn. However, they are taken aback when Gracie initially refuses.
She believes it’s impossible to plan the perfect wedding in just two weeks before Christmas. Eventually, Gracie agrees to take on the challenge, only to face more obstacles than she could anticipate. And guess what? Bure isn’t just starring in the film. She’s also the executive producer, working alongside a team of many fine actors.
These include Holly A. Hines, Eric Jarboe, Jeffery Brooks, Ford Englerth, Gerald Webb, Paula Elle, and Trevor McWhinney. The movie, directed by Paula Elle and written by Katie Main, was announced on Instagram by GAF. They wrote, “📣🎄 MORE FESTIVE NEWS: @candacecbure & @cameronmathison will star in a new original holiday film, #JingleBellsWeddingBells.”
Candace switched to GAF in October 2022 after working over a decade with Hallmark. She wanted to create family-friendly and faith-based content. She explained, “GAC fits my brand perfectly. We share a vision of creating wholesome content for families.” Meanwhile, Cameron joined GAF a year later, in November 2023, expressing his commitment to crafting beautiful stories.
Before their move, both actors were Hallmark staples. Mathison hosted Hallmark’s “Home & Family” talk show, while Bure starred in the popular “Aurora Teagarden Mysteries.” Currently, Bure also serves as GAF’s chief content officer and is gearing up to lead a new mystery series, “The Ainsley McGregor Mysteries.
