Luna kissing Bill threw the entire Bold & Beautiful viewing audience into temporary shock, and after it began to wear off, came the realization that the unexpected development, not to mention the young woman’s eerie smile in the Friday cliffhanger, had some disturbing implications moving forward!
Everything we thought we knew about Luna was thrown into question when we witnessed her kiss the man she had been calling “Dad” after her mother’s arrest and a subsequent paternity test proved he was not the father. Most of us had suspected this all along, believing that Li had rigged the intial test to cover up some sort of sordid family secret. That still may be true, but after the kiss, we can’t help but wonder if Luna has known all along that Bill wasn’t her bio-dad, and simply pivoted after the truth was revealed.
Of course the kiss could just be a nervous breakdown on the heels of the special mints debacle, her friend Hollis’ death, Poppy’s arrest (and lies), and the paternity kicker. However, if Luna knew all along that Bill wasn’t her father, that suddenly makes her a prime suspect in Tom and Hollis’ murders, a possibility we’d pondered in the past, but one which now makes a lot more sense… in a twisted soap way.
But that’s not the only potential fallout here. As we mentioned, that chilling smile that Luna let out after kissing Bill threw everything we knew about her into question. Viewers who previously had believed her to be a sweet innocent intern accidentally drugged by her irresponsible hippie of a mother, were suddenly forced to wonder what really happened the night she ended up in Zende’s bed.
As SOAPS reader Vixhen theorized on our message boards: “Once Luna set her sights on RJ it was only a matter of time before she infiltrated the Forresters. I’m even going as far as thinking she knew exactly what she was doing when she slept with Zende. He’s a Forrester, too. This is all about money and power.”
Since we now know Luna’s a big fan of putting a back-up plan into action, perhaps she was setting Zende up as her fallback boyfriend if R.J. dumped her. Maybe she did grab Poppy’s drugs by mistake and hatched the entire scheme of bedding Zende at the party, knowing she could use the mints as a “get out of jail free” card. Or maybe Luna was a special mints user all along… we did see her popping the candies on the regular. Anything’s possible at this point!
On the other hand, considering that Luna told Bill that her childhood had been a lot tougher with Poppy than she’d ever admitted, perhaps the special mints debacle went down exactly as we saw it play out, and in retrospect, was one of the last straws in a story that has led to a daughter framing her mother for a double murder.
