At the cliff house, Ridge and Taylor clear their chakras as they and Shandra discuss spiritual healing. Shandra urges them to focus on each other and breathe as one. Ridge’s hand is on Taylor’s heart and they look into one another’s eyes. Outside, Brooke watches with a grim expression.
In Forrester’s design office, Hope and Carter kiss. She laughs, “So much for swearing off office romances.”
Steffy enters and they jump apart. Hope picks up the phone and pretends to be on a call as the brunette asks, “What’s going on?” She assumes Hope is grilling Carter about her line and complains that she’s relentless. Hope tells her if she’s looking for Ridge, she hasn’t seen him. Steffy says he’s with her mother.
Hope says her mother doesn’t have a problem with Ridge spending time with Taylor. Carter says it’s all about communication… even if there’s complicated emotions. “Tell the other person how you feel and see what happens,” he says, looking at Hope. He gets called away and tells Hope they’ll pick this up later. Once alone, Steffy warns Hope about badgering Carter about her line. He’s an asset to the company and she doesn’t know what they’d do without him. Hope agrees with her 100%.
At the cliff house, Ridge tells Taylor they’ll get the stress out of her body. Shandra instructs them on how to breathe and tells Taylor that Ridge will help her rebalance her heart chakra. Brooke peers in and watches through the curtains.
Ridge asks Taylor, “Are you with me?” She’s right there. Ridge tells her they have to balance all seven of her chakras. Shandra declares that tonight, they’re focusing on Taylor’s heart chakra. Ridge tells her no one loves and cares more than she does. Shandra talks about the heart being affected by negative emotions. She asks Ridge to show Taylor what to do next. He instructs her to sit on her heels and hold out her arms. Outside, Brooke gasps, “What are they doing?!”
Inside, Shandra encourages Taylor to stay open to this. Taylor worries that her illness is not all in her head. Ridge thinks she’s holding onto something. He wants to feel her. “Just look at me. I’ve got you.” Shandra explains that the heart chakra can be impacted by multiple heartaches, which cause scars within, causing them to close off. Tears fall down Taylor’s face. Ridge tears up. “You’re doing it.” Shandra wants them to go deeper by trying another position, which will establish an intense interconnection.
In the design office, Hope and Steffy debate whose mother is more understanding. Steffy brings up Hope going after her husband. Hope has apologized and wants to move past that and put an end to the rivalry their mothers began all those years ago.
At the cliff house, Shandra tells Ridge to sit cross-legged facing Taylor. She then asks Taylor to sit in Ridge’s lap and wrap her legs around his back. She tells them to look into each other’s eyes. “Ridge is supporting you, giving you his strength.” She asks where Taylor is feeling resistance. She says, “In my heart.” Tears fall down her face. Shandra thinks she can regain her sense of safety and empowerment. Ridge tells her, “You can do this. You’re safe. It’s OK to feel.” Taylor cries. Ridge cries. Taylor breaks down. Ridge pulls her into an embrace. Outside, Brooke’s jaw drops.
In the design office, Steffy tells Hope she doesn’t want their kids to grow up the way they did; watching their mothers fight. Hope thinks the first step is acknowledging that Taylor respects Brooke’s relationship with Ridge. Steffy nods. As long as Brooke can acknowledge that her mother will always love her dad. Her mother won’t try to break up Brooke’s relationship, but their love will never die.
At the cliff house, Shandra warns Taylor that she’ll be emotionally raw for a little bit. Taylor says she can finally breathe and feels like a weight’s been lifted off of her chest. She thanks Shandra for everything. Shandra wishes her the best and urges her to keep up the work to heal. She adds, “Be there for her, Ridge.” After Shandra’s gone, Taylor tells Ridge she hasn’t allowed herself to cry like that in years… not since their precious baby left them. She thanks him for leading her down this past. Ridge says, “You did the work.” She says they did it together. Taylor feels drained and tells Ridge he can go. She tells him his caring is a beautiful gift and she’s grateful for it. Taylor decides they don’t have to keep her secret anymore. “Thank you for helping me heal my broken heart.” They embrace, much to Brooke’s chagrin outside. Ridge exits, and Brooke walks in the patio door. Taylor asks her what she’s doing there. Brooke wants to know, “What’s going on, Taylor? I saw everything.” She complains about her straddling Ridge and warns she won’t get away with it. Taylor says it’s not what she thinks. She has a condition, and Ridge has been helping her get through it. Brooke learns she has Broken Heart Syndrome and exclaims, “You’ve got to be kidding me. Taylor, this is just another way to manipulate Ridge back into your life!”
