At the wedding in the Square, Xander’s mother, Fiona, approaches him at the altar. As the guests react with shock and curiosity, panic washes over Theresa. Sitting next to Andrew, Paul texts Brady to see if he’s okay. From the Pub, Brady texts back, “Just made it to a meeting.” A martini sits in front of him.

Back at the wedding, Leo eats up the drama. Fiona explains to Xander that she got the wedding invitation too late to RSVP on time. So she threw caution to the wind and hopped on a plane. Sarah excitedly interrupts for an introduction. Theresa closes her eyes and breathes deeply. Fiona learns of her granddaughter, named Victoria. “After Victor? I suppose that’s appropriate,” she deadpans. She stiffly looks in on the “lovely child” and shouts that she’s her grandma. Maggie introduces herself as Victor’s widow. Fiona states she and Victor were close many years ago. Maggie notes she was married to Victor’s brother, Titus. Theresa anxiously urges them to get the ceremony back on track.

Ava comes downstairs from her room above the Pub to find Brady drinking. “I thought you didn’t drink,” she says. “I don’t,” he responds, sipping his martini. He goes on a snarky rant about Theresa marrying Alex. Ava asks if he wants to talk about it.

In the Square, Fiona asks who Theresa is. Leo pops up to explain she just married Victor’s son. Alex introduces himself. Confused, Fiona only recalls Phillip and Bo as Victor’s sons. Alex explains about the letter they found after Victor’s death. Fiona has questions, but Theresa urges Maggie to resume the ceremony. Fiona says it won’t wait, declaring Alex a fraud. She demands to see the letter. Justin produces it, claiming Alex’s mother wrote it to Victor not long after Alex was born. Leo gapes in delight. Fiona declares Anjelica did not write the letter. “I did.”

Xander Sarah Fiona and Alex glare at Theresa. Theresa looks uneasily in Xander's direction

Xander demands to know what his mother is doing. Fiona apologizes for it coming out like this, but she had an affair with Victor while she was married to Titus. “Oooh,” Leo squeals. “Now, it’s a Salem wedding!” Fiona didn’t want Titus to know she betrayed him, so she privately wrote to Victor about his son, Alexander, which was the name she gave Xander. Someone must have changed her signature on the letter. Justin explains the letter was found in Victor’s briefcase which was returned by the ISA. She asks if someone else had access.

As Paul notes Andrew’s grimace, Alex’s eyes dart to Theresa. “It was you, wasn’t it?!” He exclaims, recalling that Theresa was alone with the briefcase in Greece. She tries to deflect, but Alex angrily deduces that she changed the letter. “Tell me the truth!” he shouts. Through tears, Theresa admits it. Sarah holds a furious Xander back, as Alex demands to know who helped Theresa forge the letter. She admits it was Konstantin.

Alex scowls at Theresa

As Ava accepts a drink from Brady at the Pub, she listens to his tale about Theresa. She shares her own woes over Harris. However, unlike Brady, she brought her heartache upon herself. Brady notes it doesn’t change how much it hurts. But at least Harris is gone, so she doesn’t have a constant reminder of what she lost. He slams his drink and snarks about the good time Theresa and Alex are having on their wedding night.

In the Square, Maggie reels over the revelation that Theresa was working with Konstantin the whole time. Theresa swears she didn’t know how dangerous he was. Xander rails at Theresa for giving Alex what was rightfully his. Alex spits that Theresa may have screwed Xander over, but at least he didn’t marry her. Weeping, Theresa runs away.

Justin wraps his arms around Sonny and an emotional Alex who embrace

After the guests have left, Justin, Bonnie and Sonny rally around Alex. He feels so stupid for not listening to all the warnings about Theresa. Bonnie says there is one good thing: “Justin is actually your father.” Alex agrees that is a good thing. “Hey, Dad.” Justin embraces him, and they express how much they love each other. They pull Sonny in for a group hug. Justin says they’ll get the marriage annulled, and he’ll get the police involved. Alex needs to get out of there and takes off.

At the Pub, Ava declines another martini from Brady in favor of going to bed. “Want some company?” Brady coyly asks. Maybe they can feel good together. Ava knows that would only be temporary. Plus, Kristen’s her boss. Brady says she doesn’t need to know. As tempted as Ava is, her impulsive decisions always lead to mistakes. She advises Brady to move on from Theresa because he’s a great guy. After he promises to order a car home, Ava heads upstairs.

In the Square, Xander angrily confronts his mother for lying about Victor. She explains that they didn’t want to devastate Titus. “What about after he died?” Xander asks. Fiona recounts how she fell apart after Titus died, and she and Xander were barely speaking. Xander recalls falling apart, too, but his mum was off somewhere drinking herself to oblivion. Fiona apologizes for not being there for him. He doesn’t want her there now, either. “Get out of my sight,” he scowls. Fiona reluctantly obliges. Xander suggests he and Sarah still get married, but Sarah suggests they go home and sort everything out instead. Xander says he’ll see her there and departs.

A smirking Leo holds out two plates of cake to a disdainful Paul and Sonny

Across the Square, Leo approaches Paul wondering if Andrew was conspiring with his sister. Leo later brings wedding cake to Paul and Sonny. “Just because the wedding was a disaster is no reason to let a perfectly good cake go to waste,” he says before sauntering off with his own piece.

Elsewhere, Andrew finds Theresa gathering her clothes. “Going somewhere, Sis?” he gravely asks. She wonders if he’s going to tell everyone she was Konstantin’s accomplice in Victoria’s kidnapping. Andrew won’t, but suggests she do it herself.

Wearing her wedding dress, a devastated Theresa clutches her street clothes.

In the Square with Bonnie, Justin rejoices that Alex is still his son and that Victor never lied to him. Meanwhile, Alex runs to the park. Stephanie follows to see if he’s okay. He says he’s not, and she embraces him.

Xander marches into the Kiriakis mansion and pours himself a drink. He slams it and pours another. Before he drinks that one, he snarls at Victor’s portrait. “To you, Father. Looks like you saved the best joke till last.” He gulps his drink and throws the glass. It smashes against the portrait.

Fiona comes upon Brady at the Pub. “Someone sitting here?” she asks. Brady offers her Ava’s untouched drink. “How gallant,” she says, sitting with a smirk.
