In the hallway between their apartments, Alex and Stephanie learn they’re both moving back in. Since his place has been sitting for months without air conditioning and her place is a mess, Stephanie suggests they go to the Pub for a beer.

Johnny comes to Rafe’s hospital room as Gabi sits with him. He recalls how Rafe was like a superhero to him when he was a kid. Gabi knows how much Rafe loved being his stepfather. Johnny apologizes for EJ letting her rot in prison for something she didn’t do. She’s surprised he’s being so nice to her after she exposed EJ for keeping Jude from Eric. Johnny is glad she did. He hopes his father learned a lesson, especially now that he’s lost everyone, including Stefan. Speaking of whom, Johnny reports how lonely and miserable he was while she was in prison. Gabi’s eyes pensively wander.

Knowing that Gabi is at the hospital, Ava comes to the Bistro to talk with Stefan alone. She can’t be sure, but it’s possible Connie overheard her and Kristen discussing their tryst. Stefan fumes, but Ava opines that Connie is harmless.

Sitting across Jada's desk, Paulina makes an emphatic point. A pensive Jada stands with her arms crossed.

Paulina meets with Jada in Rafe’s office. Jada reports that Everett, or more likely, Bobby, has been confirmed as Rafe’s attacker. Paulina gasps as she hears the whole story. Despite having no reason to suspect Bobby, Jada gets worked up for not putting it together sooner. Paulina assures her isn’t her fault and recounts her own experience being with a violent man. It took her a long time to accept she wasn’t the cause of his actions. Just like Jada isn’t responsible for Bobby. Jada just can’t accept that the man she once loved was capable of murder. Bobby had so many secrets. She just hopes one of those secrets doesn’t cost Rafe his life.

A chipper Connie comes home to the apartment with a bottle of wine for her and imaginary Li to share. She’s got a good job, they’ve identified Rafe’s attacker, and she’s got him. “Everything’s coming up Connie!” She gushes about her great bosses and how impressed Gabi is with her. She can’t believe how much more comfortable she feels than she did this morning. Li wonders if she’s more comfortable about work or murdering Everett Lynch. Connie explains she had to do it because Bobby was going to expose her for stabbing Li, which is Stefan and Gabi’s fault. But don’t worry. She’s going to make them pay for what they did.

Johnny comes home to Chanel in their bedroom. After gushing over each other, they have sex. Afterward, in bed, Johnny wants to watch old Body and Soul episodes for research. Chanel curls up with him as he opens his laptop. However, she stops the episode to point out how ludicrous the storylines are. Johnny counters it’s not much crazier than “the days of our lives.”

At the Pub, Alex clasps Stephanie's hand across the table. They share an emotional look.

At the Pub, Alex laments the whiplash of believing he was Victor’s son and then learning he’s not. When he asks about her, Stephannie tells him Everett’s dead. A gobsmacked Alex tells her how sorry he is and clasps her hand as she cries.

At the police station, Jada tells Paulina they still haven’t resolved who killed Li. Paulina wonders if Bobby could have stabbed him as well. Jada thinks it’s a possibility, but wouldn’t he have included that in his suicide note? Also, what’s the motive? After more discussion, Paulina tells Jada to go home for the day. Jada will, but only after she calls Gabi to update her.

At the apartment, Connie gleefully tells imaginary Li that Stefan slept with Ava while Gabi was in prison. Imaginary Li’s mind is blown. But also, he knows it will blow Stefan and Gabi’s marriage sky high. Connie plans to drop that bomb when it has maximum impact. Imaginary Li delights in Connie’s plan of making the women friends before she destroys them. She suggests they go to bed despite it only being 9:30. She’s had a long day, and he’s been on his feet all day. She leaves the room as imaginary Li is revealed to be a life-sized cardboard cutout.

At the Bistro, Stefan tells Ava that Connie came by with papers for Gabi to sign for her. Ava states she never asked her to do that. However, she muses if Connie was acting normal while she was there, they’re safe. Stefan isn’t convinced, but suggests they never discuss this again so no one overhears them, especially Gabi, who walks in. Gabi pointedly kisses Stefan on the cheek before asking what Ava’s doing there. She says she had papers for her to sign, but learned Connie already came by.

After Jada calls Gabi, she cries at Rafe’s bedside. She’s so sorry for not knowing what Bobby was capable of. She wishes she had been able to protect him. At least now, the case is closed and Bobby’s gone. All she wants to do now is to focus on Rafe.

Alone with Stefan at the Bistro, Gabi rants about Bobby. It’s so unsatisfying not being able to see him brought to justice or confront him face to face. At least he did pay, Stefan counters. And now, the person who did hurt Rafe can never do it to anyone ever again.

In her pajamas, Connie carries Li’s cardboard cutout toward the bedroom.

In front of a cardboard cut out of Li, Connie presses two fingers against his toothy smile
