Since leaving Days of Our Lives as Sloan fled town in the wake of the baby Jude scandal, Jessica Serfaty has not, it seems, had an easy time. Just about a month ago, she withdrew abuse allegations after initially claiming fiancé Leonardo Del Vecchio had struck her. Now, it looks like someone may be tracking her every move.

TMZ reports that Serfaty discovered an unknown AirTag device in her car after her phone alerted her to its presence. It wasn’t hers and she didn’t know of anyone placing one in her car, so of course she called the police. They, however, didn’t find the mysterious tag, theorizing that it fell off or was removed. And their theories about why it was somewhere in her car weren’t very comforting. They think, per TMZ, that it was placed either for car theft, burglary, or perhaps even more concerning, stalking.

Designed by Apple to locate lost keys and other small items we may misplace, AirTags connect to iPhones and can guide you to the missing items exact location. With that said, they were specifically designed to NOT track people and do just what the one in Serfaty’s car did: If your phone connects with someone else’s AirTag for too long, it alerts you. That’s intentional to prevent people from keeping them hidden and using them to keep tabs on you, instead of objects.

We could see EJ — or, really, any number of ticked off Salemites — doing this type of thing to Sloan to track her down, but this isn’t a soap opera. And in real life, it’s just plain scary. Hopefully the police track down where the AirTag came from and Serfaty can breathe a sigh of relief knowing it won’t happen again.
