At the Metro Court pool, Dex shows up in his blues. He says hello to Gio and then meets up with Joss for his lunch break. Joss takes Dex aside to speak with him, they head to an alcove, and kiss. Joss tells him how sexy he is in his uniform, and they kiss some more. Eventually, she says she has to get back to work, and he should be working too. He admits this wasn’t the lunch break he had in mind, but he liked it.

Lois arrives to give Gio exciting news. Her friend in the city lost a violinist they use for Broadway soundtracks, and he’s going to hold that spot open for Gio. She asks if he’s ready for the bright lights. Gio admits it sounds amazing, but he promised to play at the gallery opening, and he is going to be playing in the PCU summer gala series. Lois believes he can get someone at PCU to cover for him, and Ava won’t mind about the gallery, as this is a professional opportunity. Lois thinks they can talk to the department about this opportunity, which puts him on the road to stardom. She says nobody deserves that more than him.

Lois Gio surprise GH

Gio admits it would be a great opportunity if he were still in the city, but he doesn’t want to go back on his commitments he’s made here. He likes living here, his job, and PCU. Lois asks what about the Quartermaines. He likes them, even Tracy, who is a bit stand-offish. Lois lets him know Tracy has no say on who lives in that house, as Alan gave it to Monica. She says if Tracy bullies him, don’t let her push him around.

In her room, Ava tells Cates she’s sorry it took her so long to answer the door and admits she was sleeping. She’s a bit sleep-deprived thanks to the pool noises, the elevator, and being worried about her daughter. Cates believes the best way to protect Avery and herself is to build a case against Sonny. She offers him a glass of wine, but he is on duty. She pours herself one and talks about how, without Avery, she feels out of synch and alone. Cates says that’s why they need to build case against Sonny. Ava admits she is afraid of Sonny, and if he records this conversation, it could get back to Sonny. She says to Sonny that betrayal is the ultimate sin. Cates notes they have ways to protect her. She won’t go into hiding and leave Avery behind. Plus, Sonny is erratic and has pushed away his entire family aside from Kristina.

Ava cates talk Sonny GH

Cates explains it’s his job to put Sonny away, and he needs her help. She points out that out of all the people who have tried to put Sonny away, how many are still breathing? He gives her word he would never give her up as a source. She admits she’ll think about it and thanks him for his help. He asks how involved the Jeromes were with Sonny’s business. Ava admits her brother kept her mostly out of that ugly side of the family. She says she and her brother were close, he made his mistakes, but she loved him. Cates asks why she was there with Sonny at the warehouse the night of the sniper attack. Ava says Sonny insisted she be there, maybe to intimidate Selina, and she couldn’t refuse. She claims she didn’t want to go, but Sonny doesn’t like rejections.

Cates wants Ava's help GH

Cates asks about Sonny’s relationship with Anna. Ava says they are close, and it all goes back to Anna’s daughter, Robin, who he knows. Given the scene between him and Sonny at the warehouse, she assumes he is still grieving his brother and late wife. He decides that’s enough questioning for today. Ava thanks him for stopping by, asks to call him John, and notes it’s comforting having him around.

In the hall, Cates gets a call from his superior about a shipment from Yemen, which means Pikeman is still in play. Cates’ boss clearly seems annoyed, and Cates says he’s close to a suspect and just needs a little more time. His boss hangs up on him.

Later, Natalia pounds on Ava’s door. When Ava answers, Natalia wants clarity. Why did she release that tape? Ava invites her in, and says she didn’t mean to record her, that was an accident. However, what she said about her daughter, and how what thinks about LGBTQ+ individuals is awful. She thinks Sonny must be furious and wants nothing to do with her. Natalia gloats Sonny’s furious about the recording, but not with her.

Willow stops by Sonny’s unannounced, and he says she’s welcome to come by any time. She admits she just had a conversation with her mother. Sonny asks when she started talking to Nina again. She explains she decided to let her anger and animosity towards Nina go. She followed Drew’s path in forgiving Nina, and she realized she was depriving her children of someone who only wanted to love them. She says they are taking it slow and she wants them all to be happy. Sonny hopes she’s not here to lobby for him and Nina to get back together. Willow isn’t but knows Nina really did love him, and she is sorry about their breakup. Sonny only wants Nina to be happy, and it seems she is.

They sit down, and Willow admits she’s here for Michael. Sonny says some things can’t be forgiven. Willow says Michael betrayed them both, but she forgave Michael, and she is working on things with Nina, and it’s so much better this way without the animosity.

They are interrupted when Sonny gets a call from Diane’s office. Diane is in court, and he fumes to her associate that she is on retainer and needs to call him back. Willow hopes nothing is wrong. Sonny explains Ava is trying to take his daughter, and he won’t allow it. She says she’s sorry and again asks him to think about forgiving Michael. He says he’ll think about it. She says she needs to take her own advice and make amends for her own mistakes. She thanks him for his time.

Sonny gets call GH

At Crimson, Nina slaps Drew, who admits he deserved that. He knows he was in the wrong, and he got lost in the moment with Willowand it just happened. Nina screams at him that Willow doesn’t know the real Drew Cain… make that Quartermaine, and perhaps she should break her illusions of him and let her know he’s sleeping with her mother. He knows she isn’t going tell Willow, or she already would have. Nina asks how he could not control himself, reminding him that she’s married to his nephew. Drew assures her it was a mistake, and isolated moment, a bad impulse. He compares it to her and Sonny in Nixon Falls, not to throw that in her face, of course. Nina tells Drew that Willow is drowning in guilt and agonizing over telling Michael. She told her to put the kiss behind her and try and move on.

Nina and Drew argue GH

Drew promises he will not pursue Willow. He says she may think he’s awful, but he’s not so awful he’d take advantage of Willow. She is glad to hear that. Drew also tells Nina that he admires her. She worked on this relationship with Willow, and today, she came to confide in her. Nina snaps that she wasn’t so thrilled about what Willow confided to her. However, she chooses to believe him, and he’ll still have The Invader’s endorsement. He thanks her, but doesn’t see this as a quid pro quo arrangement, and perhaps they need to come to a new understanding.

Drew Nina new understanding GH

Nina thought they already had. She admits she never would have introduced him to McConkey if she didn’t believe in him. He admits he knew she wouldn’t hurt Willow, which is why he helped her get close to her daughter. He thinks they should put the animosity behind them and asks what then are they left with. Before anything else can happen, Nina’s assistant calls her and says Sonny is here to see her.

Sonny enters and tells Nina he doesn’t want to interrupt, but she says Drew was just leaving. Sonny congratulates Drew on his run for Congress. Drew leaves, and Sonny just stopped by to tell Nina that he asked Ava to move out, and he’s filing for custody of Avery. She is glad, as her eyes have been opened to Ava. Sonny thinks her wake-up call must have been as enlightening as his. Nina admits she was naive to think Ava could be her friend. Ava’s never had a female friend, and with their history, they were doomed to fail. Nina asks why he’s here. Sonny says Ava filed a custody suit, and if she’s subpoenaed, what will she say? Nina doubts Ava will call her as a witness, but she will say he’s a great father and Avery adores him. Sonny thanks her. He knows he didn’t handle things well in the end. He suggests that if she can bury the hatchet with Drew, can she do the same with him?

Sonny visits Nina GH

At Jason’s, he asks Anna to hand over the phone, but she can’t. She explains she can’t let Cates put Valentin away, not yet. Anna asks him to think about what his kids went through when he was away, and that was only for two years. She says it will be far worse for Charlotte, and she can’t separate her from her father.

Jason and Anna argue GH

Anna promises Jason will get what he wants. She cries that Charlotte forgave her today, so she can’t repay her by leaving her alone and fatherless. Anna asks Jason to trust her for two more hours, and then he’ll have what he wants. She notes he trusted her to handle Valentin. She hands him the phone and says she’s trusting in him now. He has what he needs and tells her to do whatever she wants with Valentin.

Anna makes a deal with Jason GH

Anna arrives at Valentin’s and pounds on his door. He’s shocked to see her when he opens his door and asks what’s wrong. She tells him that both he and Charlotte need to leave the country now. He asks what she’s done? She admits to turning him into the FBI as the head of Pikeman.

Valentin shocked GH

Valentin finds his phone is gone and can’t believe she did this. Anna says they don’t have time to talk about it, and he and Charlotte need to go. He asks if these last few weeks and nights have been real or a sham. She cries they were real, and she’s risking everything for him and Charlotte. Valentin calls Charlotte, who is already on her way home. Anna tells Valentin to take Charlotte, go, and don’t contact her again. Valentin has another plan and says, “You come with me.”

Cates arrives at Jason’s place and knocks on the door. Jason is inside with the phone attached to a computer. Cates yells he wants to know everything Jason knows. Otherwise, their deal is off, and Carly goes to jail. Jason stares at the clock.

On the next General Hospital: Carly asks Lois why Sonny never mentioned Gio. Gio confesses to Joss that he may have overstayed his welcome. Nina tells someone, “I’ll tell them I’d testify against you. Anna asks Valentin why he threw everything away for Pikeman. Sonny asks Natalia, “You want me to be the go-between?” Jason informs Cates, “I would think twice before trusting anything that woman says.”
