General Hospital Spoilers: Is Carly Ruining Jason’s Love Life – Clingy Friendship Needs to Change?
General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) put his whole life on hold to protect Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) from the FBI’s threat. Since Jason didn’t want Carly to land in prison, he let everyone think he was deceased and stayed away from his own children for well over two years.
That’s been a tough pill for Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) to swallow since she feels like Carly will always come first for Jason.
It’s clear that Carly and Jason have a clingy friendship that’s caused plenty of problems.
Of course, we can respect that GH has built this friendship over the course of many years and multiple versions of Carly.
The show’s always bringing history to the table when it comes to Carly and Jason’s powerful bond.
That said, it’s strange that Jason and Carly’s friendship has become the most important part of who their characters are.
It’s overtaking Carly and Jason’s lives to the point where everything revolves around their connection.
That might be OK if Carly and Jason were in a romantic relationship, but it just feels bizarre when they’re firmly planted in the friend zone.
However, something tells us Carly would move back into romantic territory if Jason would get on board.
Carly recently admitted to Jason that she was previously jealous of Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) because she wanted to be the only woman he loved.
It’s not fair to Jason for Carly to always be there judging and gatekeeping.
Between that and all the messes Jason has to clean up for Carly, it’s a lot for him to handle!
Is Carly ruining Jason’s love life? Would Jason be better off if the show would dial down Carly’s obsession and let him do more of his own thing?
We’re not saying Jason and Carly shouldn’t be friends, but they could perhaps branch out with other storylines and romantic opportunities if they weren’t stuck to each other like glue.
Our predictions point to some FBI-related complications for Carly and Jason in the coming episodes, so stay tuned for updates on what that news will mean for them moving forward.
General Hospital spoilers say John Cates (Adam J. Harrington) will play hardball, so stay tuned.
