The Doctor Is In… trospective: General Hospital’s Cassandra James Reflects On ‘New Chapters and New Beginnings’

We don’t get to see Terry on General Hospital as often as we’d like but her portrayer, Cassandra James, recently gave fans a treat in the form of some new beautiful headshots. The ABC soap actress celebrated her birthday on July 17, and cheered, “New headshots for my birthday!”

Along with eight photos taken in an outdoor setting, James talked about “new chapters and new beginnings” and shared how she’d taken a few days prior to her birthday to reflect on what to say to “punctuate” the milestone.

When she found the words, which she shared while visiting Toronto, one of her hometowns that she returned to for the first time in a couple of years, James realized “just how wildly transformational the last two years have been” and stated, “How heavy the grief. What a battle homecoming can be.”

She went on to recall “how fractured a sense of self can become in the process of healing… And yet, despite it all, defying the odds brings a new sense of power, of peace.”

On her birthday this year, James felt as though she could trust herself again and that she is “deeply prepared now for life’s inevitable storms.” In closing, she added, “I can be free to try, to fail, to fly and every aspect of myself, every lesson I’ve learned I will carry with me. Don’t worry, Cassandra. I’ve got you. And that is nothing to underestimate.”

We should all take a page out of the actress’ book and set aside some time to look back on our own lives and everything that has made us stronger leading up to today.
