General Hospital: [THIS] Y&R Star Lends a Helping Hand To GH’s Kate Mansi
General Hospital star Kate Mansi’s character, Kristina, is going through some tough changes. That’s what you feel after tumbling through a window and landing in the Metro Court Hotel pool, right? Nope, it’s the loss of the baby she was carrying for Molly and TJ that crushed her heart. Plus, Kristina is furious at Ava for the lies that led to this tragic outcome. How does Mansi cope with such heavy storylines? Well, she found some much-needed support from a fellow soap star! Who’s that?
Y&R Star Steps Up to Support Kate
The General Hospital actress Courtney Hope is trying her best to be Woody for Kate’s Buzz Lightyear. Let’s dive in to know how these two are connected. In a chat with Soap Opera Digest, Mansi discussed the intense scenes leading up to Kristina’s heartbreaking loss. However, it’s what happened afterward that stands out.
The GH diva shared that she and Hope, who plays Sally on Y&R, decided to hit the gym together. While working out, the duo caught up on life, including their characters’ wild storylines. Moreover, Kate recalled telling Hope, “I fell out of a window, and then I fell into the pool.” While doing so, a hilarious thought popped up in her mind.
She wondered what the other ladies at the peaceful Zen studio must have thought about overhearing that conversation! But it wasn’t just about sharing laughs as the two actresses found common ground in their experiences. It all makes sense since Hope’s character, Sally, also lost a child about a year ago.
Mansi explained, “We were sort of commiserating about how you yearn for those heavy, gritty storylines.” She added, “When you’re in it, you’re like, ‘Oh, God! I can’t wait to do something light!’” In addition, they both acknowledged that acting can feel like a see-saw. One must constantly balance between intense drama and the desire for something lighter.
Also, the GH star couldn’t help but see the irony. Despite the emotional rollercoaster, she’s truly enjoying Kristina’s journey. Having Hope as someone who understands these challenges has been a great source of comfort and inspiration for Mansi. Maybe that’s why she’s able to pull off some powerful scenes in this storyline! We can’t wait to see where Kristina’s path will take her next.
